Just a quick message to thank everyone who came and supported our Macmillan coffee morning on Friday. The children from Meadows School in Wooburn Green drew some fantastic coffee cup pictures and they were the talk of the shop … so well done! Ross won the competition with prizes also going to Myles, Mason, Courtney, Joseph and Jessica.
The raffle has also now been drawn, so do come in to see if you have won!

THIS FRIDAY Woo is taking part in the World’s biggest coffee morning in aid of Macmillan cancer support ….
Come down, have a lovely coffee and all the profits will be donated to Macmillan to help them do what they do so brilliantly … improving the lives of
people affected by cancer.
Children from The Meadows school, Wooburn Green are decorating pictures of coffee cups and they’ll be on show on the day, with a copy of the winning picture printed on to canvas for the children to put up in their classroom. We’ll also have a raffle!
So on Friday join in, relax, have a coffee with us and as Macmillan say … Feel Good!!!

… and tanned … and feeling gooood after our short break in the sunshine!
When we got back to the airport last week, Woo was met by our best friend and a Ford. Woo isn’t complaining but Woo still would’ve liked the treatment that a Tibetan Mastiff received when he arrived at Xi’an airport in China last Wednesday! He was met by 30 luxury cars and got a bow to wear … why didn’t Woo get a bow? It’s in Woo red!!! Woo wants a bow …..
Anyway, let me just stress again … a convoy of 30 black Mercedes-Benz cars, led by two sports utility vehicles, drove to the airport to pick up dog and owner AND … a committee of dog-lovers met them holding up a long red banner welcoming the mastiff to Xi’an.
Where was Woo’s committee of coffee lovers?!!!!!! 🙂
Woo doesn’t mind really, because we know they are all going to be with us on SEPTEMBER 25TH … to raise money for Macmillan and have a fantastic time as part of the World’s biggest coffee morning!

We are holding an event in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support here at Woo on September 25th!
Profits from all the coffee we sell that morning will go to Macmillan and there will also be fun and games on the day to raise more money … 🙂

Woo was off the blog yesterday … sorry … we were getting our hair done ….
Anyway, we’ve discovered that cash machines in East London are offering customers the option of using Cockney rhyming slang to get their hands on their bees n honey … that’s money to our international readers! 🙂
Yesterday, five ATM’s in the East End ‘went Cockney’ for three months … and anyone opting for Cockney rhyming slang (instead of English or any other available language!) will be asked to enter their Huckleberry Finn (PIN) before choosing how much sausage and mash (cash) they want …
Those wanting to withdraw 10 pounds will have to ask for a speckled hen …
… while the machine may tell more unfortunate users it’s contacting their rattle and tank (bank of course!!).
So … with all this going on, Woo thought it would put a visit to our lovely coffee shop through the cockney translator. We put it in …. and out came …

We all love our bed … don’t we?
Whether we’re sleeping or relaxing …
Waiting for someone …

Woo believes bed is best!!! Well … after coffee of course.
So imagine our sheer delight and excitement when we discovered there is now a bed that makes itself!!! 🙂 🙂 OH YES!!! The only possible downside to bed is the fact that when you get out of it you have to make it BUT! not any longer!!! 🙂
With just the push of a button the new invention neatens up your bed, pulling the duvet up and straightening it out.
Oh the wonder and joy of technology!!! 🙂
Shock horror!! Woo has today discovered that forty percent of the messages on Twitter are “pointless babble”, according to a study conducted by a US market research firm.
The firm revealed that most people post things along the lines of “I am eating a sandwich now” …
Or … “I’ve got a flowery wardrobe” …..
Or …Â “I am a viking wearing fantsatic furry boots” …
OK, those last two I made up, but the first one about the sandwich is honestly true … and well clearly, that IS pointless babble as they should be twittering ‘I am eating a scrummy Woo panini now in a wonderful little coffee shop in Wooburn Green’ but hey, Woo doesn’t like to point out the error of people’s ways all day every day!!! 🙂
Anyway, Pear Analytics said that it randomly sampled 2,000 messages from the public stream of Twitter and separated them into six categories.
News, spam, self-promotion, pointless babble, conversational and pass-along value.
Pear said “pointless babble” accounted for 811 “tweets” or 40.55 percent of the total number of messages sampled and Woo is wondering when everything changed. When did everyone suddenly become so interested in the slightest small thing that people they kind of know started doing.
I mean if Woo told you that we were going to go off now and spend the entire day making wonderful coffee, but at 10.45 we logged on to say we were going to the loo and were going to wash our hands thoroughly afterwards, you wouldn’t be interested would you????

Well … another week, another Woo! And … it’s at this time on a Monday, when Woo wonders whether the cup is half empty or half full … and as Woo is the optimistic sort, we always say it’s half full (although we do prefer a completely full cup at all times because we love coffee!!)
